Comments:Left the hill about 30mins after the gaggle that stu, matt and some hangies left in. It was a pretty good climb which took me straight to base. Drifted past Oswestry (now all on my lonesome!) and found myself getting very low in a big blue hole. Tried every trigger I could see and found a weak climb above a field with harvester in- Drifted along with it until I was close enough to jump onto Rodney's pillar to join a guy on a sport 4 soaring there, phew, I could now relax a while. Strangely there was nothing decent triggering from there so getting a little impatient I left in the first thermal that came through and drifted over towards long mountain where there were pgs on take off. My climb had petered out so I waited above there until the next bit of lift came though and drifted off again. Next on the sites tour was Corndon where I could see a pg flying but a cloud was building west of it so I headed there instead which proved to be a loveley climb and a short street that took me quite a bit further.I now found myself in the blue again and was hanging on to anything that wasn't going down too fast (I could now see gliders winching on the mynd). With no clouds within reach I started searching over triggers again, ended up diving low over a tree covered hill into a valley with ploughed fields and a pine forest covered ridge beyond-last chance to stay up, I headed over the tree line very low and found a small, rough but quite strong climb and cored it.I nearly bottled it at this point as there were no landing options within sight but convincing myself that i could hold onto it I continued to turn and climbed out again in what turned out to be a great climb to the cloud that was now forming above. The next part of the flight was quite relaxing (apart from being desparate for a pee!) as I remained quite high passing huge hills and flying sites that I am not familiar with. Followed the river wye for a while and got low again near hay bluff (a lot of circling in zeros by now as it was blue again and getting late) managed to find my last climb here, triggered by a small bump in the valley. Drifted along as far as I could eventually landing at Llangorse on the edge of the Brecon Beacons at 6.15pm, 121km with turnpoints/113km open distance. Was greated by a bunch of local kids (and the farmer's wife) who were amazed that there was a hill big enough to fly that far!! Got a lift to Abergavenny station to find Kai Coleman there who had flown from Corndon and landed in a similar place to me! Expensive train to Wrexham where Cheryl and Jamie picked me up at 10.15pm. What a day!!
